Press Release First Marseilles, now Paris: e*Message equips French fire services Secure communication: Paris fire department banks on e*Message paging services Berlin/Paris, 30th October 2015: Paris is not only the city of love, but also has one of the most famous fire departments in the world. The “Brigade des sapeurs-pompiers de Paris” (BSPP) was established by Napoleon in 1811 and is still among the Grande Nation’s flag- ships. Since October 2015, the Paris fire brigade is counting on e*Message’s reliable paging services for secure internal alerts and communication. The Paris fire brigade is the largest fire department in the world with 8,700 staff. Its area of operation comprises around 800 square kilome- tres in and around the French capital with a population of nearly seven million. “We are very pleased that the Paris fire department also trusts in our paging services now,” says Dr Dietmar Gollnick, CEO of the Berlin mo- bile network operator e*Message W.I.S. Deutschland GmbH and Presi- dent of the French subsidiary. “We see it as our duty to guarantee secu- rity with reliable communication solutions. For fire fighters and for the general public. e*Message maintains the largest security radio network in Europe with around 1,250 transmitting stations in Germany and France. The satellite- based radio network is independent of public networks and serves as a quick mobile notification system for service, emergency and support units. Due to these reliable communication channels, e*Message’s infra- structure and highly available paging services are especially valued by rescue and fire services and are employed throughout Germany in par- ticular. There are special parameters in France: unlike in Germany and the French departments, the fire services of the two largest cities are under the control of the Ministry of Defence. “The Paris fire brigade is struc- tured like the military and places great value on orderly and reliable in- frastructures,” explains Vincent Delpont, Managing Director at e*Message France which is based in Le Chesnay (Versailles) near Par- is. The fire department of Marseilles, the second largest city in France, is similarly structured. It is also among e*Message’s customers and has been since 2011. e*Message was also able to record numerous successes in Germany in 2015 and stands for secure and reliable communication. Only re- cently, the company was granted the new German quality seal “Safety made in Germany” (SMG) for its communication security solutions e*BOS and e*Warn. e*Message is among the first five holders of the new quality seal in the country. The seal is awarded by the German Page 1 of 2 Press Release Fire Protection Association (vfdb) for excellent products and services in the German security industry.
