AQAC REPORT 2013 – 2014 PREFACE Annual Quality Assurance Report for the session 2013-14 is an effort to report progress details in the tangible way, particularly results achieved in the key areas, which are specifically identified by the IQAC through perspective plan. Tirpude College of Social Work is the A’ grade college accredited twice by National Assessment and Accreditation Committee. As per the directives of NAAC, the college has constituted IQAC at college level. The formation of I.Q.A.C.has been proved as an effective mechanism of Institution’s system and is working continuously for realizing the goals and mission for the quality enhancement and sustenance on the basis of core values stipulated by the NAAC. The structure of the IQAC committee is as under. Deshmukh Member Ms.S.S.Jibhenkar Member Mr.V.S.Janbandhu Member Mr. Vilas Shende : Invitee Member and Alumni Director, Mure Memorial Hospital, Nagpur Dr. Robin Tribhuwan : Anthropoligst Mr.Ambadas Mohite : Invitee member & Alumni of the college Part A: Plan of Action The Plan of Action chalked out by the IQAC in the beginning of the year towards quality enhancement and the outcome to be achieved by the end of the year, may be listed as follows. The College had framed the following plans and strategies for the academic session 2013- 2014. 1. Addition to the office staff. 2. The changed pattern of examination (semester pattern) at PG level requires teaching new papers. Social Work Practicum also needs to be organized accordingly. 3. This shall be focused through meticulous planning by the APC and Social Work Practicum Committees 4. Academic Calendar for the year 2013-14 will be prepared. 5. Efforts will be made to organize National level seminars on relevant issues. 6. Various college committees shall plan various activates considering the semester as well as annual pattern. 7. Activities for students progress will be focused through various committees like SRC, Placement Cell & Career and Counseling Cell for the professional and personal growth of the students at U.G. and P.G levels. 8. Through Field Action Projects various activities on issues of social relevance will be organized. 9. Major/ Minor Researches and Opinion Polls on emerging issues of social significance will be undertaken to promote Research activities. 10. Workshops on Research Methodology will be organized for students of BSW Final & students of III semester. 11. Student support activities shall be promoted in this academic session also. 12. Networking with various organizations for various social causes will be encouraged. 13. Proposal for IQAC funding shall be forwarded to respective authorities. 14. Annual report & AQAR will be prepared. During the session 2013-14 the college conducted various programmes considering the overall development of the students and giving specific significance to Social Work Education. Activities based on the standards suggested by NAAC on various specific objectives are mentioned in Part B of the report Part B: 1. Activities reflecting the goals and objectives of the institution: The major objective of the Institute is to provide Professional Social Work education to the students coming from the neighboring counties, belonging to various section and categories of the society. While imparting social work education up most care is taken to assimilate core values and factors life contribution in national development, enhancing skill and competencies among student, inculcating a desirable value system and heading towards quest for excellence. In the current academic session 2013-14, academic planning committee of the college prepared the academic calendar for the session well in advance. Maximum opportunities were created for student’s participation at campus and field level activities. Networking with NGOs and communities through social work practicum was done in order to give platform for applying professional skills and techniques. Women and the weaker sections in the societies were particularly focused up on through Social Work Education. 2. New academic programmes initiated (UG and PG) No new academic programmes were initiated at undergraduate and postgraduate level. 3. Innovations in curricular design and transaction: The College faculty actively participated and suggested radical changes in the curriculum content and pattern of examination in Social Work Education of R.T.M. Nagpur University. 4. Inter-disciplinary programmes started: Professional Social Work Education itself is interdisciplinary programme; however no interdisciplinary programme was started in the current academic session. 5. Examination reforms implemented: A system to asses academic development of students in the college has been developed as the Internal Examination Committee. Subject wise written examination of each class was conducted at the end of the session. R.T.M. Nagpur University`s examination pattern pertaining to structure of question papers, time duration and evaluation was strictly adhered to. Accordingly, the examination was conducted successfully and after evaluation, subject wise marks obtained by students were communicated to respective students enabling them to get to know their respective standings. Improvements in certain areas wherever necessary were also suggested to concerning students. As PG level has semester patterns semester I and III exams were conducted before Diwali Vacation & semester II and IV exams were held before summer Vacation. As III semester involves external viva voce practice viva voce was conducted internally for the students. 6. Candidates qualified: NET/SET/GATE etc. This year no students reported to have qualified the National Eligibility Test of University Grants Commission, New Delhi or State level Eligibility Test. 7.
