Resolution to exclude the public Moved by Councillor King Seconded by Councillor Rhodes THAT in accordance with Ministerial Order M192, the Town of Osoyoos' Regular Open Council Meeting continues to be closed to the public due to the inability to meet physical distancing recommendations made under the Public Health Act in Council Chambers located at 8707 Main Street; AND THAT to ensure openness, transparency, accessibility, and accountability, the Town of Osoyoos' Regular Open Council meetings will continue to be recorded, live-streamed and published on the Town's website and that the Regular Open Meetings be streamed on Eastlink's Community Channel. Contact Award -Twin Domestic Water Distribution System No. 9 - Contract #2 (302- 1702) - Report from Director of Operational Services - AGR-155 Moved by Councillor King Seconded by Councillor Bennett That Council award the Twin Domestic Water Distribution System No.9 – Contract # 2 (302-1702) to TwinCon Enterprises Ltd in the amount of $2,671,950.12 and that the Town’s signatories be authorized to enter into a contract for the works specified in the Tender Documents. Lease Agreement - Desert Sun Counselling Resource Centre - Report from Deputy Corporate Officer - AGR-110 Moved by Councillor Rhodes Seconded by Councillor Bennett That Council approves the lease with Desert Sun Counselling and Resource Centre for a portion of the property legally described as Lots 5-7, Plan 5120, LD 54, District Lot 2450s, and more commonly referred to as 8701 Main Street, Osoyoos, BC for a 3-year term commencing on January 1, 2021 at an initial rental rate of $800 per month; AND That the Town’s signatories be authorized to sign the agreement. CARRIED Moved by Councillor King Seconded by Councillor Rhodes That Council authorizes staff to proceed with the notification process which advises of Council’s intention to consider issuance of Development Variance Permit No. 20-07 at the January 26, 2021 Regular Council meeting. Councillor Bennett • Councillor Bennett attended a meeting on the KVR Osoyoos Lake Bypass Trail. • Councillor Bennett is a member of the Primary Care Network committee and was disappointed that the Okanagan Hospital Board decided not to fund the Primary Care Network in 2021. Councillor Harvey • Wished everyone a Happy New Year Councillor Rhodes • Wished everyone a Happy New Year Councillor King • Attended Zoom meeting with Accessibility and Age-Friendly Committee. MAYORS REPORT 1. • Wished everyone a Happy New Year • Mayor McKortoff gave her condolences to the family of the young man who lost his life in the House Fire on January 1st. Thanked the Fire Department and everyone who has supported the family. • Mayor McKortoff said the mission of the Okanagan Similkameen Regional Hospital District is to provide 40% of the funding for hospitals and the equipment which is why they did not fund the Primary Care Network for 2021. • On January 14, 2021 it will be the Town of Osoyoos' 75th anniversary of incorporation.
