The aim of the event is to display an opportunity for Slovak swimmers to get confronted with international competitors from around the world. Banská Bystrica Cup is one of the biggest swim meets in Slovakia. The goal is to present European and world swimming stars to became new role models to the Slovak swimming youth and also to attract the general public.. The original swimming meeting with few international participation has become an event that hold up to high standards of big European events. The rebuilding of the 50-meter pool at Štiavničky and the huge effort of the organizers contributed to its success. In previous years we have welcomed in Banská Bystrica countless elite swimming teams, as they have never met in Slovak pools before. We welcomed three Olympic winners, the fastest woman on the planet, World and European Champions and many other World and European Championships medalists. The swimmers performed spectacularly, they have been breaking required standards for Olympic Games, the World & European Championship or the World University games. We have witnessed record breaking performances. The records of the meeting as well as Slovak records have been broken repeatedly. We would like to keep up this trend also during the upcoming 13th edition of the meeting. The standard has been set extremely high ... Banská Bystrica Cup 2020, which will be held from 28th to 29th March 2020, will have an exceptional atmosphere. The International Swimming Federation (FINA) has approved our meeting as a qualifying event for participation at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo (Japan). In addition offers Banská Bystrica Cup great possibilities to break required standards for the European Championships 2020 in Budapest (Hungary) and the European Junior Championships 2020 in Aberdeen (Scotland). Banská Bystrica swimming meeting proves its long term viability. World and European stars attracted as well as media and also a large number of spectators to the brand new pool stands and offers top performances with great atmosphere. Banská Bystrica Cup has established its place among the leading European format events. This year we managed to provide live broadcasting of our meeting through regional TV and an Internet portal (other options are still under negotiation). This brings the event new significance. During the event there will be presentation of the European Youth Olympic Festival 2021, which will be held in Banská Bystrica. Come and test the venue (pool) EYOF 2021 - you are more than welcome! The organizer has the right to limit the amount of competitors according to their performance. The event is a competition of individuals, all the disciplines are swum on time, without final. The competitors will be seeded into separated heats in accordance with the announced times. For all races the 1 (one) START. The organizer has a right not give the price to those competitors who will not participate in the winners ceremony. The competitors men and competitors women on 1st – 3rd places in every disciplines of the category A, B, C, D will be awarded with the medals. The 3 best competitors men and 3 best competitors women category open results according to FINA points will be given a price money: 1st 500 EUR 2nd 350 EUR 3rd 150 EUR Setting of a new event record will be awared 100 EUR VARIOUS Presentation: 28th March 2020, 07:30 a.m. – 08:30 a.m. at the swimming pool Stiavnicky. Protests: Within 15 minutes after the finished event, fee: 20 EUR. The organiser is entitled to give priority for seeding of competitors from clubs who are guaranteeing reciprocal conditions.
