Klotman Benediction .................................................................Dr. Virgil Fry, Executive Director – Lifeline Chaplaincy Recessional v STUART YUDOFSKY, M.D. Dr. Stuart Yudofsky served as Chair of the Menninger Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences for nearly 25 years, retiring from the position on Dec. 31, 2015. He also was a Distinguished Service Professor and held the Beth K. and Stuart C. Yudofsky Presidential Chair in Neuropsychiatry at Baylor. He remains a Baylor voluntary faculty member to teach, write, and support advancement of mental health in the Houston community. He was founding Editor and, for the past 27 years, has been Editor of the Journal of Neuropsychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences, the official journal of the American Neuropsychiatric Association, of which he also served as President. Dr. Yudofsky is the author/co-author of numerous scientific articles and over 70 book chapters. He additionally is the author of or has edited/co-edited over 50 medical books, including two of the standard reference textbooks in this field, for the American Psychiatric Publishing, Textbook of Psychiatry, Sixth Edition, and the Textbook of Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences, soon to be published in its Sixth Edition. Dr. Yudofsky is nationally recognized for his research and clinical practice in psychopharmacology and neuropsychiatry in the treatment of mood and behavioral changes associated with brain disorders such as stroke, Alzheimer's disease, multiple sclerosis and traumatic brain injury. He was Chairman of the American Psychiatric Association’s first Task Force on the Psychiatric Aspects of Traumatic Brain Injury and did pioneer research on the use of beta blockers in the treatment of violence and impulse control as a consequence of brain disorders. He developed two of the standard rating scales to measure aggression and agitation in both neurological and psychiatric patients: the Overt Aggression Scale and the Overt Agitation Severity Scale, each translated into many languages and used worldwide. In 2014, Dr. Yudofsky received the inaugural Gary J. Tucker M.D. Award for Lifetime Achievement in Neuropsychiatry from the American Neuropsychiatric Association, and in 2015 he received the Lishman Award in Jerusalem from the International Neuropsychiatric Association. This award is given every two years for outstanding lifetime achievement in neuropsychiatry. An alumnus of Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Yudofsky took his residency training at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he later became Associate Professor, Vice Chairman and Deputy Director of the New York State Psychiatric Institute. Prior to his return to Baylor, Dr. Yudofsky was Professor and Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Chicago and Director of Psychiatry at the University of Chicago Hospital System. KAY BAILEY HUTCHISON Kay Bailey Hutchison is a businesswoman and public servant with more than 40 years of experience in the public and private sectors. She serves as senior counsel at Bracewell LLP. In January 2013, she stepped down from 20 years in the U.S. Senate, representing the state of Texas. She served in the Senate leadership, having first been elected Vice-Chairman of the Republican Conference and later elected Chairman of the Republican Policy Committee, the fourth-highest ranking Republican Senator. Senator Hutchison served as the Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and vi Transportation and the Appropriations Subcommittee for Commerce, Justice and Science. She also was the Chairman of the Military Construction Appropriations Subcommittee. In addition, the Senator served as Chairman of the Board of Visitors at the U.S. Military Academy of West Point. Prior to her Senate service, Senator Hutchison was elected Texas State Treasurer in 1990 and to the Texas House of Representatives in 1972. She was the first Republican woman elected to that body. She served in the Texas House until 1976 when she was appointed by President Gerald Ford to serve as vice-chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board. Her business experience includes acting as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Republic Bank Corporation, co-founder of Fidelity National Bank of Dallas and owning a candy manufacturing company. In 2013, the Dallas City Council voted to name its Convention Center the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas and the University of Texas established the Kay Bailey Hutchison Center for Energy, Law and Business. In July 2013, President Barack Obama signed into law H.R. 2289, renaming section 219© of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 as the Kay Bailey Hutchison Spousal IRA. Senator Hutchison authored the original bill, cosponsored by Senator Barbara Mikulski, to establish Spousal IRAs. KEVIN E. LOFTON Kevin E. Lofton has been Chief Executive Officer of Catholic Health Initiatives since 2003. He previously held several executive positions with CHI, including Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Lofton is widely recognized at the national level and serves in leadership capacities in many of the major healthcare organizations. Active with the American Hospital Association (AHA), Mr. Lofton served as the 2007 Chairman of the AHA Board of Directors, and served as Chairman of the Committee on Nominations and the Equity of Care Committee. He is a Fellow and former Regent at Large in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
