Al Hudaydah Displacement/Response Update 19 -31 October KEY FIGURES AL HUDAYDAH HUB FROM JUNE OCTOBER 2018 During the reporting period, the conflict extended towards the city and approached WHO building which accommodates 6 UN agencies. Staff of those 6 UN agencies are required to work from home to avoid the conflict area. 88,947 ADO through IOM provided 12 HHs in Aslem district (Hajjah) with NFIs (Non-Food Items) and EESKs (Enhanced Emergency Shelter Kits) who were affected by a storm after NAMCHA FAMILIES DISPLACED (National Authority for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and Disas- ter Recovery) raised an appeal to NGOs to respond to these families. UNHCR through JAHHD (Jeel AlBena Association for Humanitarian Development) completed the distribution of 1,841 NFIs kits and 1,447 ESKs for the newly displaced HHs in Abs district (Hajjah). The kits enabled 33,689 the families to have access to the essential household items and temporary shelter until they find a longer term solution. FAMILIES ASSISTED ADEN HUB AL HUDAYDAH HUB Security situation in Aden Hub worsened this week with continuation of the assassination incidents. The situation had negative impact on the Cluster Partners response as their move- 46% ments were restricted resulting in the decrease of humanitarian activities on the ground. NFI distribution completed by UNHCR through NMO (Nahdah Makers Organization) for 1,303 HHs in Khanfir district (Abyan), 547 HHs in Zingibar district (Abyan),123 HHs in Al Qabbaytah district (Lahj) and 112 HHs in Dar Sad district (Aden) who are hosted in Khaled Ibn Al Waleed 43,425 HHs Displaced IDPs hosting sites. During the distribution of the NFI kits in Khaled Ibn Al waleed IDPs hosting sites the Yemen Humanitarian Coordinator visited the site. IOM through DRC also distributed 19,916 Assisted NFIs Kits to 391 families in Tuban district (Lahj) who are accommodated in Al Rebat IDPs hosting sites. In addition, DRC provided 724 HHs with NFIs in Al Khawkhah district (Al Hudayd- ah). The NFIs provided the families the most personal human needs for shelter from the SANA’A HUB climate and the maintenance of health, privacy and dignity. DRC also constructed 30 latrines in Al Rebat IDPs hosting site, Tuban district (Lahj), and the delivery of water to it is still ongo- ing. DRC further conducted an awareness campaign on Cholera in the site. During the report- 12% ing period, UNHCR, through Al-Amal Bank, completed the transfer of cash grants for rental subsidies to 251 HHs in Aden, 15 HHs in Al Hudaydah, 117 HHs in Lahj, 8 in Shabwah and 111 HHs in Taizz. The families were provided with the cash grants to allow them to live in shelters that offer protection from the elements, space to live and store belongings as well as more 33,112 HHs Displaced privacy. 4,182 Assisted SANA’A HUB During the reporting period, most of the schools that were hosting IDP families in Amanat Al Asimah and Dhamar were vacated and renovation of them will be carried out by UNICEF. ADEN HUB UNHCR through YRCS (Yemen Red Crescent Society) assessed 47 HHs newly displaced from Al Hudaydah in Amran and UNFPA through its partners are assessing the needs of newly 98% displaced families in Sana’a governorate. UNHCR through YRC completed the distribution of NFIs kits to 71 displaced HHs from A Hudaydah in Amran. ADRA has completed the distribution of DFID NFIs kits to 720 HHs in Dhamar City and 17 HHs were provided with family tents in Mayfa'at Anss district (Dhamar). 6,048 HHs Displaced 5,961 Assisted IBB HUB On the 19th of October, YWU (Yemen Women Union) team was threatened by unknown armed group during the distribution on NFIs in At Ta'iziyah district (Taizz) which led to the suspension of the distribution.
