Treatment of this disease has been a major challenge for the clinicians. With the understanding of the mechanism of cancer development, it was found that lifestyle and food habit is one of the causes of cancer. Herbs and spices are minor constituents of our diet, they have shown to have some medicinal properties with multiple anticancer characteristics. This review focuses on the potential anticancer effects of species of the genus Curcuma commonly use as herbs and spices traditionally.
