CV CATHERINE CHOONG QIAN YI Catherine is a Senior Sports Physiotherapist at Pau Physiotherapy in Kuala Lumpur with clinical experience in Malaysia, Singapore, and Australia. As an ex-state and university athlete herself, she is passionate about helping people in their recovery journey and reaching their full potential. She has previously worked at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (Singapore) as a Senior Physiotherapist and had the privilege of nesting in Tan Tock Seng Hospital (Singapore) for 6 months prior to returning to Malaysia. Catherine graduated with a Master of Advanced Clinical Physiotherapy (Sports) from the University of South Australia and a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) from The National University of Malaysia (UKM). She has 9 years of clinical experience, including supporting national athletes from various countries in international sporting competitions such as the SEA Games (Singapore), ASEAN Para Games (Singapore), ASEAN School Games (Thailand), AUDI World Cup Short Track Speed Skating (Shanghai) and Hong Kong Senior Men Cricket team (MAS-HK tour). Her recent stints in Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand involved providing sports physiotherapy for professional golfers for the Asian Tour (Golf) with some events being co-sanctioned with the European Tour, Korean Tour and Japan Golf Tour with prize money up to USD 3 million. Catherine is currently the only one in Malaysia who holds the highest certification from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist. Catherine attained Titleist Performance Institute (TPI USA) Certified Medical Level 2 to provide sports physiotherapy for golfers and is Certified in Level 2 Immediate Care in Rugby by World Rugby Union. Catherine is currently the Honorary Assistant Secretary for both the Malaysian Association of Sports Medicine (MASM) and Fragility Fracture Network of Malaysia (FFNM). As a firm believer in continuous education, she had the privilege of being an external lecturer in UKM for the Physiotherapy undergraduate program and gave lectures in various public hospitals in Malaysia. .
