OBJECTIVES Article 1. Vol. 1333,1-22376 122 United Nations — Treaty Series • Nations Unies — Recueil des Traités 1983 (2) To avoid excessive fluctuations in the levels of world supplies, stocks and prices which are harmful to both producers and consumers; (3) To contribute to the development of productive resources and to the promotion and maintenance of employment and income in Member countries, thereby help ing to bring about fair wages, higher living standards and better working condi tions; (4) To increase the purchasing power of coffee-exporting countries by keeping prices in accordance with the provisions of paragraph (1) of this Article and by increas ing consumption; (5)
