REPUBLIKA NO PILIPINAS TANGGAPAN NG PANGULO Pangasiwaan Sa Pagpapaunlad Ng Kalakhang Maynila (Metropolitan Manila Development Authority) METRO MANIL A COUNCIL MMDA Resolution No. 15-17 Series of 2015 FULLY SUPPORTING THE CONSTRUCTION OF FIVE (5) MODULAR BRIDGES TO DECONGEST TRAFFIC IN METRO MANILA . WHEREAS, pursuant to Republic Act (RA) No. 7924, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) scope of services include transport and traffic management and the formulation, coordination and monitoring of policies, standards, programs and projects to rationalize the existing transport operations, infrastructure requirements, use of thoroughfares, and promotion of safe and convenient movement of persons and goods; WHEREAS, in order to help decongest the traffic volume of vehicles in the Metropolis, the MMDA proposes and supports the construction of five (5) modular bridges along Santolan Street, P. Tuazon Street. c.P. Garcia Avenue- Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City, Dela Rosa Street and Vito Cruz Street, City of Manila; WHEREAS, the proposed modular bridges are compose of 400-meter all-metal bridges that can be built quickly within four (4) to six (6) weeks and can be used by light vehicles and buses; WHEREAS, the Metro Manila Council deems it necessary to support the construction of five (5) modular bridges to help alleviate traffic flow pending the completion of infrastructures in Metro Manila NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved as it is hereby resolved, pursuant to Section 6 of RA 7924, that the Council hereby supports the construction of five (5) modular bridges in Metro Manila.
