These regulations apply the EU directive "on the assessment of the effects of certain public and private projects on the environment" (usually referred to as the Environmental Impact Assessment Directive) to the planning system in England. The aim of the Envirocheck Environmental Impact Assessment Report is to provide the necessary site-specific environmental data required to assess the potential environmental effects of a development. Ultimately this assessment is required by the local planning authority in order to decide whether or not to grant planning permission for a project, so as to protect the environment. The regulations set out a procedure for identifying those projects which should be subject to an Environmental Impact Assessment, and for assessing, consulting and coming to a decision on those projects which are likely to have significant environmental effects. The datasheet is produced by querying the Landmark database to a distance defined by the client from a site boundary provided by the client. In the attached datasheet the National Grid References (NGRs) are rounded to the nearest 10m in accordance with Landmark's agreements with a number of Data Suppliers.
