SUMMARY OF ACCOUNTS Rs. Rs. This year’s working shows a Surplus of 47,12,827 Out of this -- (i) Charities paid during the year 17,17,544 (ii) Amount carried over to next year for charities disbursement for the year by 31.03.2020. 3,45,283 (iii) Accumulation for Specific Purpose under Sec. 11(2) 20,00,000 40,62,827 Balance transferred to Trust’s Capital & surplus Fund. 6,50,000 CHARITIES Charities aggregating Rs. 22,62,184 were paid during the year (including Rs. 5,44,640 for the year 2017-18) details whereof are given on pages 29 to 30 of this Report, and percentage thereof under different heads is given below : -- Educational ... Rs. 13,15,823 – 58.17% Progress chart of working of the Trust for the last 76 years is given on pages 33 to 68. A total sum of Rs. 6,81,81,427 has been spent and donated for various charitable objects during the last 76 years, details whereof are given and classified under the following different heads :– Educational ... Rs. 3,71,66,063 – 54.51% Medical ... Rs. 1,03,83,796 – 15.23% Religious ... Rs. 98,03,358 – 14.38% Others ... Rs. 1,08,28,210 – 15.88% 3 In the comprehensive list of charities given on pages 31 to 68 of this Report, a sum of upto 2017-18 and Rs. 2,62,275/- for 2018-19 has been shown as Miscellaneous grants given to students and other individuals during the last 76 years. A major portion of this grant was given to students for their higher studies, particularly in Technical lines. This also includes grants for Medical relief to needy and deserving patients and/or maintenance grant to old and infirm persons, particularly of Bhiwani and West Bengal. ACTIVITIES OF THE TRUST The following Institutions are being run with the help and/or aided by this Trust : (1) One modern-styled Children’s Park named as ‘Halwasiya Bal-Vihar’, costing nearly Rs. 3.25 Lacs, was established in Bhiwani by Jana seva Trust at the time of Centenary of Late Rai Bahadur Bissessurlalji Halwasiya in the year 1970. The Park is being maintained by this Trust since its inception, and have spent a total sum of Rs. 33,09,689 till 31st March 2016, The Park is provided with modern playing equipments for the children. A Guest House is also attached to the Park with modern amenities. Now it has been closed for the public and the possession of the property handed over The owner. (2) The Trust has donated a sum of Rs. 2 Lacs to Adarsh-Mahila Mahavidyalaya/Adarsh Shiksha Samiti, Bhiwani towards construction of one Girls Hostel named “R.B. Bissessurlal Motilal Halwasiya Chhatrawas”, to accommodate 50 girl students coming from outside Bhiwani. (3) The Trust has so far donated a sum of Rs. 15,16,000 to Halwasiya Mahila Shilpa Kendra at Bhiwani for imparting Handicraft education to the women, such as Tailoring, Knitting Embroidery work, and also painting and mehendi art. The said Shilpa Kendra is doing excellent work in its field, and as reported, a number of 2100 students have been trained upto 31st March 2012. (4) The Trust has also provided a good stock of Utensils worth Rs. 50,000 at Bhiwani which are provided to public, without any charge, for using at the time of Social functions etc. (5) The Trust owns and maintains one Dharamshala and Temple of Shree Rangnathji situated at Gyan Gudari, the most important and sacred place of Vrindaban since 1915. These are called “Bhiwaniwala Dharamshala and Bhiwaniwala Temple”. Facilities of rooms with attached bathrooms, light, flush latrines and 24-hours water supply are available here. The local people alsoget the facilities on the occasion of marriage and other functions. 4 (6) The Trust constructed one modern-styled Dharamshala at Badrinath. This is the best Dharamshala of its kind in the whole of Uttarakhand. All sorts of facilities are provided there to pilgrims. Generally, flats are booked 2/3 months in advance. Dormitories are also built for accommodating group of pilgrims. This Dharamshala is being managed by Baba Kali Kamliwala- Pachayet Kshetra, Kolkata and Rishikesh. A Sum of Rs. 48,00,000/- has also been paid for modernisation of the Dharmashala during the year 2018-19. (7) The Trsut is also financing a Students’ Hostel - having 35 seats, at 2/1, Brojodulal Street, Kolkata - 6 known as ‘Halwasiya Chhatra Niwas’, for College-going students coming from outside Kolkata. The Trust has also donated one 6 KVA Generator set to the Chhatra Niwas, costing Rs. 30,000 and a sum of Rs. 2,50,000/- has been donated during the year 2017-18 for repairing and painting of the Chhatra Niwas. (8) The Trust has also donated towards construction of the Satsang Bhawan at swargashram, Rishikesh (U.P.) for religious activities. This is widely used for Bhagwat Katha. This is attached to Banprastha Ashram of Baba Kali Kamliwala Panchayet Kshetra. (9) The Trust is also donating from time to time to one Higher Secondary School at Golgram (Midnapore Dist.) named as R.B. Bissessurlal Motilal Halwasiya High School, established in the year 1932. The School has a reputation of outstanding performance in the field of studies, thoughts and co-curricular activities in the village vicinity of Golgram. The Trust has donated a sum of Rs. 61,000 for construction of new class rooms in the school building. A Students’ Hostel is also attached to the School. The Trust has contributed Rs. 50,000/- during the year 2004-2005 towards construction of “Platinum Jubilee Building” in the School to be used for various puproses. (10) The Trust has donated a sum of Rs. 2,10,000/- to Golgram Hat and Mela Committee for construction of New Wooden Chariot for Rath Yatra festival during the year 2018-19. (11) The Trust has donated a sum of Rs. 2,00,000/- to Kurukshetra Development Board, Kurukshetra (Haryana) in the year 1999-2000 for their Public Library to be established in honour of Late Guljari Lal Nanda, Ex-Prime Minister of India. (12) The Trust has donated a sum of Rs. 2,00,000/- to Maharaja Agrasen Medical Education & Scientific Research Society, Agroha (Haryana) for their activities. 5 (13) The Trust has, donated a sum of Rs. 32,56,952/- upto 2017- 18 and Rs. 1,50,000/- during the year 2018-19 to Motilal Halwasiya Memorial Trust Estate, Kolkata towards repairs and maintenance of their Temple. It will not be out of place to mention that the said Trust and the Deity was established by the Testator in memory of his younger brother, Late Motilal Halwasiya in the year 1925, a couple of months after his death. This Temple is situated in the heart of Burrabazar area of Kolkata. (14) The Trust has donated a sum of Rs. 2,00,000/- to Friends’ of Tribals society, Kolkata in the year 2001-2002 for running two One - Teacher Schools, Out of the interest - income of the said amount, for providing informal education to the children of Van Vasis (Tribals). (15) The Trust has donated Rs. 1,50,000/- to Navayuga Radiance, Lucknow during the year 2003-2004 for renovation of Auditorium hall named after “Rai Bahadur Bissessurlal Motilal Halwasiya Hall”. (16) The Trust donated a sum of Rs. 25,500/- during the year 2018- 2019 for organizing Halwasiya Memorial Lecture 2018-19 at Visva Bharati, Shantiniketan by famous lecturer Prof. Surya Prasad Dixit under guidance of Prof. R.N. Mishra, Head of the Hindi Department, Visva Bharati, Shantiniketan (W.B.) (17) The Trust has donated a sum of Rs. 2,00,000/- to Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Kolkata during the year 2010-11 for construction of one room in Dharamshala at Ganga Sagar (West Bengal) to be named after Rai Bahadur Bessessurlal Motilal Halwasiya.
