The two parties signed a new 10-year contract in May 2009 for Nike to continue as the exclusive supplier of athletic footwear, Proud to be an official apparel and accessories. Nike will provide the athletic department with sponsor of UNC women’s shoes, uniforms, coaching gear, balls and other equipment. Nike also gave lacrosse the University $2 million for the Chancellor’s Academic Enhancement Fund to support faculty.
