We offer BS programs in two different areas i.e. BS-Physics and BS-Applied Physics (nanotechnology). The Department has a multi-media arrangement of lectures, seminars and study tours for students to update them of contemporary developments in Physics and related areas. The department has been linked with the International universities such as Wuhan university of Technology and Dalian University of Technology China through MoU for facilitating its faculty and students in research and internships. The Department has also planned to offer MPhil and Ph.D programs in various advanced research areas of Physics and Nanotechnology. The seminar library is well furnished and has more than 2000 books of Physics and related fields. The Department has computer facilities and is linked with the national/ international community through PERN. Criterion 1: Program mission, objectives and outcomes Standard 1-1: The program must have measurable objectives to support Mission Vision: Department of Physics currently offers bachelor academic programs BS (Physics) and BS (Applied Physics) for students intending to pursue scientific, technical or professional careers in fundamentals of Physics on broader levels and special concentration on nanotechnology as well. Mission: The department of Physics at Khushal Khan Khattak University, Karak is dedicated to research, development and education across all sub-branches of Physics with emphasis on Material Physics and Nanotechnology. Intense focus is drawn to address the incorporation of nanotechnology into undergraduate and post graduate levels of education and into industrial applications. Quality academic and research programs have been designed with flexibility and technical standards as per HEC curriculum which provide an excellent opportunity to the graduates with enough expertise in different fields of applied physics so that they could compete at national and international levels in academia as well as in industries. Objectives: To prepare the students for understanding basic level of research To become the most preferred choice of students, faculty and industry To enhance the ranking of the department at national and international level To train youth global leadership in human development, excellence in education, in accordance with the vision 2025. 3 Standard 1-2: The program must have documented outcomes for graduating students. It must be demonstrated that the outcomes support of the program objectives and that graduating students are capable of performing these outcomes. Learning Outcomes (BS-Physics): Upon completion of BS degree in Physics, graduates will be able: To apply the basic laws of physics in daily life. To recognize how observations, experiments and theory work together to expand the frontiers of knowledge of the physical universe. To apply basic mathematical tools commonly used in physics related areas. To use basic laboratory data analysis techniques, including distinguishing statistical and systematic errors, propagating errors, and representing data graphically. To exercise the use of physical insight, including the ability to guess an approximate or conceptual answer to physical problems and recognize whether or not the result of calculations makes physical sense. To convert physical situations articulated in English to mathematical formulations, and then analyze it quantitatively. Learning Outcomes BS-Applied Physics (Nanotechnology): Upon completion of BS degree in Applied Physics, graduates will be able: To carry out the process of scientific investigation, using appropriate lab techniques and safety procedures in the
