34 TH ANNUAL DAYTIME ENTERTAINMENT EMMY AWARDS PRESENTED IN A STAR-STUDDED TELECAST ON CBS Bob Barker Joins a Host of Daytime Stars In Honoring the Best of Daytime Television Los Angeles, CA. – June 15, 2007 – The 34th Annual Daytime Emmy ® Awards were presented at Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre tonight and telecast live on the CBS Television Network (9-11 PM, ET; tape delay to the West Coast). The two-hour star-studded telecast featured Dr. Phil McGraw presenting a tribute to legendary game show host Bob Barker, who is retiring from "The Price is Right" after 35 years as host, and over 50 years in show business and whose final episode was telecast that day. Excited fans were seated on the stage as the Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards were presented. Throughout the telecast, daytime celebrities were interviewed backstage in the Kmart Studio Blue by daytime stars, including Soapnet’s Lisa Rinna. Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards were presented for performances and programs in 13 categories, including Outstanding Lead Actor/Actress in a Drama Series, Outstanding Game Show Host, Outstanding Talk Show, Outstanding Performer in a Children’s Series and Outstanding Drama Series. Presenters included Phil Donahue, Vivica A. Fox, Mario Lopez, Ellen DeGeneres (“The Ellen DeGeneres Show”), Tyra Banks (“The Tyra Banks Show’), Jerry Springer ("The Jerry Springer Show"), Alex Trebek ("Jeopardy!") and Barbara Walters, Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck ("The View") plus the stars of all the Emmy-nominated daytime dramas. Peter Bergman ("The Young and the Restless") and John McCook ("The Bold and the Beautiful") presented the Lee Phillip Bell Tribute Package, honoring television pioneer Lee Phillip Bell, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award. She is the co-creator, along with her late husband, William J. Bell, of CBS's long-running daytime dramas "The Young and the Restless" and "The Bold and the Beautiful." On June 14, Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards were presented primarily in the creative arts categories at the Grand Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland in Hollywood. At that ceremony, James Lipton, creator, executive-producer, writer and host of the 12-time Emmy-nominated Bravo series, “Inside the Actors Studio,” was presented a Lifetime Achievement Award. Lee Phillip Bell received her Lifetime Achievement Award and a special honor to Mike Douglas was presented.
