JAYAKUMAR The following communication dated 06 December, 2020 from Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai Police, Vepery, Chennai was received on 11 December, 2020:- “This is to inform that Dr. K. Jayakumar, Member of Lok Sabha, along with others, was arrested at about 1105 hrs on 06 December, 2020 for resorting to road picketing near Indian Bank, Rajaji Salai while protesting against the Police for allegedly not permitting them to take out a procession from George Town Court to garland the statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in defiance of the regulatory orders in force, and was moved to Jai Palace Kalyanamandapam, Royapuram. In this connection, a case Crime No. 1895/2020 u/s 143, 269 of IPC r/w 41(VI) of CP Act & 3 of Epidemic Diseases Act was registered in B1 North Beach PS. He, along with others, was later released at 1630 hrs on the same day.” ------------- No. 1828 Privileges & Ethics Branch PREVENTIVE CUSTODY AND RELEASE OF SHRI NAMA NAGESWARA RAO The following communication dated 08 December, 2020 from Commissioner of Police, Khammam, Telangana State was received on 09 December, 2020:- “This is to inform that Shri Nama Nageswara Rao, Member of Lok Sabha, along with others, gathered at NTR Circle/Telugu Thalli Statue, Khammam Town and demanded to amend the newly introduced Agricultural Acts and Electricity Bills. In the light of above facts, he was taken into custody at about 1230 hrs on 08 December, 2020 as a preventive measure to prevent commission of any cognizable offence and to maintain peace and order. In this connection, a case CR. No. 561/2020 u/s 151 of Cr.P.C. was registered in PS Khammam 2 Town of Khammam Police Commissionerate.
