Originally opening Book by George Abbott and Richard Bissell on Broadway in 1954, it won the Tony Award for Best Musical and Music and Lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross was revived in 2006 and once again won - for the Best Revival of a Based on the novel "7 1/2 cents" by Richard Bissell Musical! The virtually unknown actress who got the job as understudy in the original production for the character of "Gladys" Director Wil Kilroy and was 'discovered,' is none other than the Oscar winning actress Musical Director Edward Reichert Shirley Maclaine. The film version was released in 1957 by Warner Choreographer Vanessa Bey land Brothers and featured the original Broadway cast excepting the Scenic Design Charles S. Kading character of "Babe", who was played on screen by Doris Day. As the Costume Design Kurt Alger character of "Hines" states at the start of the show, " .. .ideas keep Sound and Lighting Design Shannon Zura creeping through ... ", and you may find yourself realizing that Hair and Makeup Design contemporary unions still fight for the rights of employees, and often Props Design Calien Lewis times those you least expect lead secret lives. But underneath the plot of low wages is a game of high stakes - the game of romance, and I Cast hope you enjoy this colorful romp through yesteryear. Scott Macallister, Alan and Maryann Nyman Matthew Defiore (Max) was born in Mexico, Maine and is a sophomore theatre major at The University of Southern Maine.
