Fort Wayne took the lead in the bottom of the first on a leadoff homer by Jonny Homza, but the Captains bounced back with two runs in the third. Brayan Rocchio tied the game with an RBI double and Bryan Lavastida’s RBI ground out gave the Captains a 2-1 lead. Seamus Curran tied the game for Fort Wayne with an RBI East Division W L GB double in the fourth, but the Captains hit two homers in the fifth to take the lead again. Lavastida drilled a three-run, go- Dayton (Cincinnati) 17 14 -- ahead homer to dead centerfield. Two batters later, George Valera hit a solo shot to center to extend the Captains’ lead to 6-2.
