Tourist Arrivals From 1st January 2021 to 7th July 2021, a total of 528,157 tourists arrived in the Maldives. The top source market for the tourist arrival was Russia with 128,932 arrivals, followed by India with 89,901 tourist arrivals. Germany stood third with 29,070 tourist arrivals. Other top source markets include Ukraine, Kazakhstan, USA, United Kingdom, Romania, France and Czech Republic. In 2021 as of July 7th, while the Central/Eastern Europe and South Asia regions have made full recovery and performed above pre-COVID levels, Africa, Europe, and Americas are also showing signs of recovery. Major markets to the Maldives such as Russia and India, which are among the top 10 markets over the years, are seen as star performers, making a strong come back and recording growth rates of triple and double digits respec�vely in 2021, compared with the period in review for 2019. With the increased connec�vity, some markets from the Central/Eastern Europe emerge and make it to the top ten list, while some markets from South Asia, Africa, Americas and the Middle East also made full recovery and performed above pre-COVID levels.
