It was George Ezra’s first number 1. Listen to the original version of the song and answer these questions: 1. What genre of music do you think this song is? 2. The lyrics in the song say, ‘Time flies by in the yellow and green’. What do you think this could mean? 3. George Ezra apparently wrote the song after watching people relaxing in a garden, enjoying their surroundings. What mood do you think the song creates? Do you find it relaxing? 4. The song structure for this song is quite clear. Can you spot the Intro, Verse, Pre- Chorus, Chorus, Bridge and Outro? 5. The song has a four-chord repeated pattern, using the chords F - B♭ - Dm - C. Can you hear this chord pattern throughout the song? 6. Do you like the song? Why? 7. Shotgun was inspired by a visit to Barcelona. George Ezra often wrote songs linked to a place he visited.
