Visiting the Queens Museum Museums are places where objects from art and history can be seen. People go to museums to learn about artwork and the world around them. Sometimes, people make art while they are visiting the museum. I can go to the museum with my class, my family, or if I am old enough, myself. If my class is going to the Queens Museum, we will come in a school bus. The bus will pull up to the front door by the highway. When we come into the museum, if we are wearing coats, we take them off and put them in the coat closet. We can also leave our lunches in the coat closet. I can find the bathrooms to the left and right of the front doors. I can see the curved room which holds the Panorama, the tiny version of all of New York City. To get to the Panorama, I can go down the hallway to the left or up some stairs to the right. In the rest of the museum, I will see galleries filled with art and historical objects. I can ask Visitor Experience Agents any questions I may have about the museum or the art. Visitor Experience Agents also help to keep art and people safe. They work in the galleries or at the front desk. If I look out of the other entrance to the Queens Museum, I will see the Unisphere. The Unisphere looks like a big globe made of steel. In the museum near the Unisphere, I can find the museum café. The café is open 11 am to 5 pm, Wednesday through Sunday. Outside the museum, I will see Flushing Meadows Corona Park. After we have visited the museum and it is time to leave, we will get our coats and exit through the park or the street entrance. Thank you for visiting the Queens Museum! Come back again soon!.
