The City of Republic’s 23rd Annual Have-A-Blast Patirotic Celebration will be held on Friday, June 28 at JR Martin Park. The event features a three-hour performance by local 80’s tribute band Members Only and a spectacular pyromusical firework display to end the evening. Admission is FREE; food vendors and activities will require a fee. June 29, 2019 Independence Day Festival @ Jackson Street Park in Willard, Missouri starting at 8:30 am. Join us for one of three Freedom Week Fireworks Nights at the ballpark where we light up the sky with a spectacular show set to patriotic music! This show's theme: Freedom Week Fireworks with the Ladies of American Country. The annual Freedom Week celebration at Hammons Field kicks off on the 1st of July with Freedom Week Fireworks with the Ladies of American Country after the Cardinals host Tulsa Drillers Baseball. Gates open for the game at 5:30 p.m. (first pitch 6:30 p.m.) with Freedom Week Fireworks beginning shortly after the final out. Parking for non-guests opens at 1:00 PM. July 4, 2019 140th Annual Independence Day Parade in Marshfield, Missouri starting at 10 am until noon. Join us on Thursday, July 4th at 10:00 AM for the 140th Annual Independence Day Parade! The theme for this year's parade is "Jailhouse Rock". This celebration began in 1879 and remains the oldest, continuous west of the Mississippi River. Be sure to spend the day on the square with family and friends! The earliest celebrations were composed largely of local families traveling by foot, horseback, and wagons to a large grove just north of town to enjoy the day with friends and neighbors. People would gather together early to clear the underbrush, preparing and smoothing the grounds for lemonade, soda pop, popcorn, crackerjacks, and candy stands. Wood was also cut and hauled to a huge pit where beef, pork, and chicken were roasted for the celebration. Although many years have passed, family, friends, and neighbors still travel to Marshfield to enjoy this Independence Day celebration, eat a corn dog or a sandwich from one of the many food vendors, and have an ice cold lemonade or soda pop similar to those early celebrations. No tickets/reservations necessary. Located in Springfield at 1101 N Airport Blvd, Spfd, MO near the Springfield-Branson Airport (not located in Joplin). The ride lasts approximately 20-25 minutes. **PLEASE NOTE: THE GATES WILL CLOSE EARLY IF AT FULL CAPACITY. We had issues with that last year, so we would like to make clear that we will close the gates early if necessary to ensure those already in line get a ride.
