Creative Aging accomplishes its mission by bringing local area professional artists, performers and educators to present one hour long programs at senior centers, retirement communities, adult day care centers, and nursing homes in Cincinnati and surrounding areas. Programs are designed to stimulate participant’s minds, creativity and sense of self as well as educate, engage, enrich and entertain. Facilities that join Creative Aging choose one of three levels that will allow between 6-18 programs to be booked within their facility. Please contact us for information on our membership assistance program. * Please note that some artists charge an additional fee on holidays which would be the responsibility of the facility. Prior to booking, the facility will be asked if they wish to pay the additional fee or choose another artist. 1 Music Programs April Aloisio - Guitar or Piano and Vocals April Aloisio has been singing professionally for 35 years in the Cincinnati area and beyond. She is available to do performances featuring famous jazz artists such as Ella Fitzgerald & Frank Sinatra as well as Brazilian & Latin singers. She features specific jazz eras, big band singers and more, singing in Portuguese, Spanish & Italian with an international flair. She welcomes the challenge of creating programs of special interest such as Cinco de Mayo, Brazilian Carnival, Valentine’s Day and Holiday Music. Bill Groh- Vocalist with background music Big Band, Sinatra, Burt Bacharach, Bobby Darin...He’ll sing them all. Songs for seniors is what Bill Groh can provide. Accomplished musician and vocalist for over 20 years, he knows the kind of music you like and what you want to hear. Electrical outlet needed for background music. Bill is available all day on weekends and weekdays after 6pm. Blue Chip Duo- Piano and Bass The Blue Chip duo plays a variety of Broadway show songs, big band swing arrangements , pop rock, and sing-a-long tunes (they will provide the song lyrics to sing along). In addition, the Blue Chip duo also involves their audience in a “guess the name of that song”…….”guess the name of the artist”….. or “guess the musical show the tune originated from” trivia to engage the audience. They play everything from Broadway to Swing to Pop! Bones of Cincinnatus- Trombone Ensemble Join Bob Coil and some fellow trombonists for a variety of musical arrangements. Available evenings and weekends. Brian Deyo- Instrumentalist on Guitar Plays and discusses classical music for the guitar, the history of guitar music, and influential composers and performers. Brian Deyo and Katja Loeb- Guitar and Vocals Brian and Katja have become regulars at Marty’s Hops and Vines in College Hill, and at Jack Binion’s steakhouse in the HorseShoe Casino. Katja and Brian perform a wide variety of popular music from as early as the 1930’s to as recent as last week. Singalongs 2 are welcome, as are requests and good clean jokes. The Catacoustic Consort- Instrumentalists on Viola de Gamba 1. Music for Viola da Gamba and Baroque Harp: etc. 2. Music for Two Viola da Gambas: etc. Listen to beautiful music from Shakespeare’s time with the Catacoustic Consort! This program will showcase the unusual Renaissance instrument, the viola de gamba. This instrument and its music have many colors and textures that will delight your imagination and bring the past to life with songs. Join us for a new experience in sound with the Catacoustic Consort. Cheryl Renee–Piano or Keyboard and Vocals Cincinnati’s proclaimed “Goddess of the Blues” - Cheryl will provide history on the origin of the Blues and highly entertain you with her singing and piano playing - Blues style! Chris Boland- Instrumentalist on Guitar- Chris Boland is an instrumental acoustic guitarist who performs a wide variety of music in the finger style tradition of such guitar greats as Merle Travis, Chet Atkins, Tommy Emmanuel, and many others. Chris’ repertoire includes solo arrangements of jazz standards, pop/show tunes, country swing/traditional, and classical guitar pieces which showcase the unique qualities of the guitar as a solo instrument. Chris also offers a duo program with Jon Armstrong on Sundays. If you would like to book this program, please let Grace know when scheduling. Chris Cusentino and Jeff Roberts - Guitar and Banjo Enjoy Blue Grass music and humor with this professional Bluegrass duo. Both musicians can also be found with The Northern Kentucky Bluegrass Band and The Katie Laur Band. This program is available to facilities inside the 275 loop. Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra- Meet the Musicians Experience a 45 minute interactive program with members of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra!! Not only will you get an opportunity to meet these talented individuals, you will have the rare opportunity to hear them perform up close and personal!! Programs sent out could be solo, duo or small groups and will depend on the date and time that you choose to book. Call or email Lisa to schedule your program today! 3 Classical Surprise with Dale Lewis and Dieter Glaubke - Guitar, Flute and Vocals Dale Lewis (Guitar) and Dieter Glaubke (Flute) present their interpretations of the great classics of Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Handel, Pachelbel and more. The duo also performs their arrangements of pop, standards and Celtic tunes, including songs by Sinatra, Elvis, the Beatles and many others. Dale and Dieter offer the following programs: Classical conversation – classical pieces with fun and interesting facts about the songs and their composers. 1. Melodies and Memories – instrumental arrangements of popular music ranging from Sinatra to the Beatles. 2. Holiday Expressions – traditional holiday songs of fun and faith. Soundscapes – a combination of classical, pop, standards and Celtic songs presented as background music for banquets, receptions, tastings, art exhibits and other intimate gatherings. Dale Chambers- Background Guitar Music and Vocals Dale began his music career at Zino’s Pizzeria. He specializes in guitar/vocal numbers from the 30s and 40s as well as classical guitar. This program is generally background music and ambience for dinners and special events. Dale Fetick- Vocalist Dale sings the standards from the 30s, 40s, and 50s including such artists as Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett and many others. He also sings the latest styles of Michael Bublé and Josh Groban. Specialty programs can be provided for Valentine’s Day, Christmas programs and Caribbean music of the Salsa style. Add a little comedy - always in good style and grace. Dale has the latest in musical equipment and just requires an electrical outlet. Dave Hawkins- Guitar, Fiddle and Vocals Songwriter, recording and touring artist for 30 years. Dave’s stories, songs and anecdotes offer an insight into loves gained and lost, songs of family, sing-a-long songs, and a few well known folk standards, along with his original tunes. Dave Hawkins with Peg Buchanan Dave and Peg weave American Folk with Celtic, Irish and Scottish music, tales of their adventures on the road and rip- 4 roarin’ fiddle tunes. Dick Watson- Vocals and Background Music Dick plays a variety of music and prefers to tailor his shows on the type of venue played. Be it 50’s &60’s, Gospel, Country. He has played in a wide verity of places from the Grand Ole Opry, Renfro Valley, Local Events, Churches far and wide, to his Prison Ministry and many TV appearances. Dick has the latest in Bose Sound System and just requires an electrical outlet. Available Fridays. Foley Road–Celtic Accoustic Group with Vocals Foley Road offers exceptional renditions of Celtic and folk music in the acoustic tradition using instruments like the hammered dul- cimer, gothic harp, various guitars, flutes and whistles, and percus- sion instruments like the bodhran. Available weekdays after 5pm. Frank Gallenstein- Guitar, Mandolin and Vocals Frank offers two programs: 1. This program’s song selection includes old favorites from the 40s, 50s, and 60s, as well as popular contemporary tunes and ballads. Frank’s audiences find his voice and music comforting, and enjoy the mix of some good ‘ole foot-tapping music thrown in. The audience is encouraged to sing along if they wish. Frank is adaptable to the setting. He has provided background music at “happy hours” and on other occasions included songs in his set that liven up the crowd. Frank includes a few patriotic songs near the end of every show. 2. Frank’s Celtic program consists of popular St Patrick’s Day favorites such as Danny Boy, Irish Lullaby, When Irish Eyes are Smiling, Wild Irish Rose, McNamara’s Band, Whiskey in the Jar, and others.
