He has been a Visiting Research Professor at the School of Public Health, University of Minnesota (UMN), USA; Visiting Professor, Jishou University, China; Guest Professor, Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, Tianjin, China and Visiting Professor, Department of Management Studies, Sacred Heart College (Autonomous), Tirupattur, Affiliated to Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore. He has Bachelor's degree in Economics, Master’s Degrees in Public Administration and Social Work from University of Madras; Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Pondicherry University (A Central University); M.Phil and Ph.D. in Public Health from Centre of Social Medicine and Community Health, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and Postdoctoral research training (PDF) in Public Health at Division of Environmental Health Sciences, School of Public Health, University of Minnesota (Twin Cities Campus), MN, USA. Project Director of a major research project on “Health and Safety of Women Workers in Informal Sector in India- A Study of Beedi Rolling (Tamil Nadu) and Construction Work (New Delhi)”, funded by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi (completed). 3. Project Director (academic administration) of a major project title, Indo-US 21st Century Knowledge Initiative Collaboration for Training in Environmental Health Sciences, in association with the School of Public Health, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA, Funded by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. 4. Co-PI of an Extramural research project on Predictors/Determinants of Psycho- Social Health among Children of Incarcerated Parents: A Study of NCT of Delhi, funded by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi. He has designed and developed innovative two semester post- master diploma in public health (Advanced Diploma in Public Health) at JMI and also developed and mentored two years fulltime Master of Science in Epidemiology and Public Health (M.Sc.EPH) at Central University of Tamil Nadu. He has 13 (+2) years of broad professional experience in university teaching; research; consultancy; extensive field-cum practice supervision; mentoring undergraduate, postgraduate students, Ph.D. and postdoctoral scholars; designed and conducted various soft skill trainings and professional development programmes; designed and organized international, national conferences and short term courses on Research Methodology and international summer school on Research Methodology in Public Health (collaboration with Prof. Sigamani Panneer Curriculum Vitae Page 5 of 113 School of Public Health, University of Minnesota). He has also designed and delivered numerous workshops, both in-class and outbound based experiential learning, on leadership, teamwork, managerial decision making, negotiation skills, public policy analysis, public private partnerships (PPP) and project management.
