CHIEF MINISTER APPEALS WOMEN TO TAKE LEAD IN EVERY FIELD JANUARY 7, 2021 PAUSA 17,1942 Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant has appealed to all women to come forward to lead in every field be it in literary, social, political, industrial sector among others for their welfare and betterment of society. He said, to achieve the desired result in this direction the women should follow the ideals of late Shashikala Kakodkar who became the first woman Chief Minister of Goa. Speaking at the function “Matrumelava 2021” organised by Gomantak Maratha Samaj” to observe 86th Birth anniversary of late Shashikala Kakodkar at Rajaram Smruti Sabhagruha, Panaji today, Dr. Sawant urged to emulate late Shashikala Kakodkar, whose contribution in the field of education and industrial sector is immense. Shri Prakash Kamat, Senior journalist, was the Guest of honour , Shri Nitin Kunkalikar, Industrialist, Shri. Bhaskar Narvekar, Social worker and President of Ankola Urban Bank and Ankola Municipality, Shri Anand G. Vaghurmekar President Gomantak Maratha Samaj committee and other members of Gomantak Maratha Samaj were also present on the occasion. The Chief Minister also referred to the demand raised by Gomantak Maratha Samaj for celebrating this day at State level and also to name any upcoming project in Goa after late Shashikala Kakodkar and agreed to consider the demand subject to fulfilment of the required procedure. On the occasion Dr. Lalana Bakhale, Consultant for cardiology and general physician at Savaikar Hospital and laparoscopy centre, Ponda and Dr. Jayanti Nayak, litterateur also felicitated for their outstanding contribution in social and literary field. The Xth and XIIth Standard Students who passed out with flying colours in the examination were also honoured. Shri Anand G. Vaghurmekar welcomes the Guests.
