The publication, which is brought out for each district, contains several demographic and socio-ecollomic charactcli:-;tics village­ wise and to\\ n-wise of the di~trjct alongwith the status of availability of civic amenities, infrastmctural facilitic<" dc. 2. The scope of the DCHB was initially confined to a few Census Table~ and Primary Census Ab~tract (PCA) of each village and to\\ n within the district. Thereafter, at successive censuses, its scope and CO\ erage has been enlarged.
