Seven aquatic zoosporic fungi namely Monoblepharis sp., Saprolegnia parasitica , Phytophthora sp ., Pythium proliferum, Pythium debaryanum , Rhizopidium and Fusarium sp. were isolated from Blue Bird Lake of Hisar City from four different sampling sites in four different months of year i.e. January, April, July and October, varying in temperature conditions. More than seventy percent of earth surface is covered with water, may be fresh water or marine. Naturally occurring water bodies cantain micro-organisms, mycoflora, watermoulds, phytoplanktons and zooplanktons etc. Out of these water moulds are important component of aquatic ecosystem being key role in process of decomposition, growing in open water (pelagic) and at bottom (benthic zone). Aquatic fungi are distributed through out the world and majority of them are saprophytic, growing on dead decaying organic matter in water and mud either on the land or in side the water body. Few of them are parasite also. The growth and distribution of these quatic fungi, depends upon factors like temperature and hydrogen ion concentration of water body. Therefore aquatic fungi and their relation with pH has been studied by several workers 1-4 . Therefore, a great deal of interest has been generated to study the aquatic fungi of Blue Bird lake of Hisar City..
