This was followed in the early nineties by a number of other factories and today HIT has grown into a military industrial complex which consists of Six Major Production Units, Support Facilities and Administrative Establish- ment. Our Mission Manufacture, Rebuild, Upgrade & Develop Tanks, Tank Guns & APCs. Utilize surplus capacity of factories to meet requirements of civil factor and friendly countries. HIT Organization HIT is governed through a board, headed by Chairman HITB. The Board comprising of ve members, Member Production Control (MPC), Member Project Planning (MPP), Member Finance (MF), Member Ministerial Coordination (MMC) and Member Private (MP). Maunfacturing & Rebuild Factories Development,Engineering Support & Components Manufacture(DESCOM) DESCOM Factory is the backbone Engineering support facility for all factories of HIT engaged in new manufacture and rebuild of Tanks, ARVS, APCs and Guns equipped with high-tech CNC machines, a standard laboratory and materials testing equipment. A cluster of 500 local rms has also been engaged in development of parts through vendor industry and exploitation of indigenous potential. Provision of repair and mainte- nance support of machines and equipment installed with HIT also falls within the preview of DESCOM. DESCOM factory also support various LEAs of the country in prevailing Security situation by its ballistic products like BPJ, BPV, BPH and Bomb blankets. Gun Manufacturing Factory Gun Factory has the capability of producing barrels ranging from 105mm to 203mm caliber. It has a long standing experience in manufacture of 105mm Gun barrel for upgraded T-59 & T-69 II MP tanks and 125mm Guns / Barrels for the ongoing programmes of Tank Al-Khalid and Al-Zarrar. The autofret- taged barrels are manufactured from very high quality Electro Slag Rened Steel. Each barrel is processed through precision machining operation and subject to stringent quality control parameters.
