FINAL SCORE: CHARGERS 35, BRONCOS 14 BRONCOS FALL TO CHARGERS ON MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL The Denver Broncos scored a touchdown on their initial drive of the game for the second straight week (6 plays, 69 yds., 2:55), but could not hold on to momentum in a 35‐14 loss to the San Diego Chargers on Monday night. With the loss, Denver is now 54‐46‐1 all‐time against San Diego, including 19‐32 on the road. LLOYD SURPASSES 1,000 RECEIVING YARDS; RETAINS TOP SPOT AMONG NFL RECEIVERS Broncos WR Brandon Lloyd, who finished with six receptions for 78 yards (13.0 avg.) with one touchdown against the Chargers, recorded the 30th 1,000‐yard receiving season in team history and became just the 16th player in NFL history to record his first 1,000‐yard receiving output in his eighth NFL season or later. This year, Lloyd has totaled 54 receptions for an NFL‐high 1,046 yards (19.4 avg.) with seven touchdowns—all career highs. His 1,046 yards also represent the most in club history through 10 games in a season. Champ Bailey, 2004‐Pres. 30 322 10.7 3 Dennis Smith, 1981‐94 30 431 14.4 0 MISCELLANEOUS GAME NOTES QB Kyle Orton, who completed 24‐of‐38 passes (63.2%) for 217 yards with one touchdown and one interception (76.3 rtg.) against the Chargers, topped the 3,‐000‐yard mark on the season for the second time in his career (2009)… Orton has 3,023 yards this season through 10 games… Broncos DL Justin Bannan recorded his first sack as a Bronco and now has 6.5 for his career… RB Knowshon Moreno, who totaled 120 yards from scrimmage to lead the club, rushed 13 times for 58 yards (4.5 avg.) and one touchdown and added a career‐high seven receptions for 62 yards (8.9 avg.)… WR Eddie Royal returned two punts for 47 yards (23.5 avg.) and now ranks fifth in the NFL with a 12.7 average this season… LB Joe Mays led Denver with a career‐high nine tackles (6 solo) on defense and also tied for the team lead with two special‐teams stops. .
