Steele • Studied singing with Madam Freda Wilson of Melbourne. • Studied music and drama at Sturt College of Advanced Education, South Australia • Accepted into the Victorian State Opera Company. • Instrumentalist on piano, organ, six and twelve string guitars. • Composer and performer of her own works in the Folk, Pop, and Religious music genres. Beverly & Robert Smartt, The Temple Two • The Temple Two produced their own recording which they launched at a Surf Carnival. The number one track was Beverly’s song, “Dancing in the Street”. • Beverly has recorded 14 of her sacred solos that she composed for voice and organ. Music Teaching: • Beverly taught music at Mannum High School and Marion High School in South Australia. • General music classes; special guitar, vocal and instrumental groups. • Produced and directed school productions of Gilbert and Sullivan’s ‘HMS Pinafore’ and ‘The Mikado’. • Co-wrote, composed music, and conducted the school musical, “1,000 Days Down Under”. • Wrote, produced, directed, choreographed, composed music, and conducted “The Musical Kaleidoscope’. • As music teacher, was requested by school Principal to assist an English teacher with her class. • Private piano, guitar and voice pupils. Beverly retired from the music field when she became a professional Christian Science practitioner.
