Scope of the search A Clearance search analysis invariably begins with detail analysis of key feature of a product, process or service, which seeks clearance for commercialization in a territory. Our clearance report identifies patent literature (issued or pending patents) which is likely to get infringed by the product, process or service. Our researchers follow “all-element rule” while conducting the clearance search. The report also includes the key search strings/search strategy and the coverage of the databases used in the search. Only one patent per family is cited but all other family members have been analyzed to find best match for disclosed invention. Citation analysis is performed for relevant citations. Moreover, the search is especially focused to find patents/published applications in Europe & China region. 2. Search strategy CLEARANCE search is conducted in the following four phases. Step I Step II Step III Step IV Important Assignees and Relevant patent citations Product, Process details Relevant IPC classes are Inventors are identified are colour coded and supplied by the Client is identified. based on relevant patent matched with elements of understood and documents. the Product, Process. analysed. Key features The following important key features are identified based on the product details and other information provided by our client: Power tool dust box vacuum tube connection The subject matter to be searched for clearance purposes is: a power tool having a dust box, said dust box being adapted to receive a vacuum tube (or to receive a plurality of vacuum tubes of different diameters). The vacuum tube may be a tube from a vacuum/suction cleaner. The Milwaukee power tool has an existing dust box for collecting dust generated by the power tool tool-bit during operation, but the dust box has been modified to include a connector for attachment of a vacuum/suction cleaner tube. 4.
