If in any doubt always contact the leader. Car sharing/ lifts: Most longer Sunday walks first meet at Darley Park Drive cp in Derby (SK349380) to share cars. If you need a lift you must contact the walk leader in advance. Don’t forget a clean change of footwear and a bag for dirty boots. The shorter Sunday walks and Wednesday walks do not meet at Darley Park Drive cp so contact the leader regarding car- share possibilities. Car share costs: passengers are expected to share travel costs (20-30p per mile divided by number of people in the car) plus any parking charges. Refreshments: Unless stated, all walks require packed lunch and drinks for the day. Dogs are only allowed at walk leader’s discretion - always contact the leader before bringing your dog. It must be on a lead and well behaved. Non-members: You are welcome to walk with us 2-3 times after which we expect you to support the Ramblers by becoming a member. Liability: Neither the Group nor the walk leader can accept responsibility for any loss or injury by persons taking part in the walks. Mountain Rescue: Telephone 999, ask for the Police (not Ambulance) then request Mountain Rescue. Footpath problems: Please notify our Footpath Secretary of any obstructions or other issues, giving full details and grid reference if possible. Walk leaders have the right to refuse to take members or visitors who, in their view, are unsuitably dressed for the conditions, may be unable to complete the walk in an appropriate time, or may compromise the safety of the group as a whole. Leaders cannot be held responsible for anyone who persistently walks in front of them. Make the leader’s role easier by: respecting their requests keeping them well in sight (leaders should also make sure they do not get too far ahead) offering to be a back marker being sensitive to other walkers' abilities make new walkers to the group feel welcome.
