Suffolk, to be promoted to all holy orders notwith- standing that he is the king's bondman. By p.s. Jan. 3. John de Bello Becco in Normandy, staying beyond seas, has letters Haughley. nominating Thomas de Giorsio, lay brother of the said house, and Marcel- linus de Alneto, clerk, as his attorneys in Ireland for three years. By fine of GO.s. Ireland. Jan. 3. Appointment, during pleasure, of Simon Warde to the custody of the Haughley. corpus of the castle of Pontefract, as above. Mandate to Thomas Deyvill as above. Memorandum that the said Simon made oath before Master Robert de Baldok, the chancellor, to be faithful herein. Jan. 4. Mandate to John de Rithre, constable of the castle of Skypton in Cravene, Haughley. to be counselling and helping unto him with all his posse whenever necessary. The like to Richard de Musle, constable of the castles of Sandale and Conyngesburgh. Jan. 4. Pardon to Thomas le Hunt of his outlawry in the county of Essex for Haughley. non-appearance before John de Mutford and John de Bousser, justices of oyer and terminer touching certain trespasses against Hugh le Despenser the younger, to answer touching trespasses at the manor of Wykes, co. Essex, on condition that he surrender to prison forthwith and stand his trial if the said Hugh will proceed against him. By K. Jan. 8. Licence for Thomas, earl of Norfolk and marshal of England to enfeoff South William de Ncuport, parson of the church of Radenhale, and Richard de Elmham. Burstede, parson of the church of Stonham, of the manor of Radenhale, co. Norfolk, and of the advowson of the church of the said manor, held in chief; and for the latter to regrant the same to the earl and Alice his wife and the heirs of the said Alice. By K. Jan. 9. Presentation of Alan de Medefeld, parson of the church of Kirkeby, in Iloxnc. the diocese of Lincoln, to the church of Helmyngham, in the diocese of Norwich, in the king's gift by reason of the bishopric being in his hands; on an exchange of benefices with William do Claue. By p.s. Jan. 12. Grant, during pleasure, to William Martel of all his lands in Nymnesfeld, South co. Gloucester, which the king lately took into his hands. By K. Elmham. Jan. 10.
