He could not bear the slaughtering and bloodshed in the battlefield !Thus he gave up violence and preached peace all through his life. *First Battle of Tarain - 1191 A.D Md Ghori was defeated by Prithviraj Chauhan. *Second battle of Tarain - 1192 A.D Md.Ghori came back the next year and defeated Prithvi Raj Chauhan with the help of Jaichand. *Battle of Chandwar - 1193 A.D Md.Ghori defeated Jaichand who had invited him to invade India and defeat Prithviraj Chauhan. Thus, Turkish rule was firmly established in India. *First battle of Panipat- 1526 A.D. Babar from Ferghana in Central Asia , who was invited by Daulat Khan Lodhi(the governor of Punjab) defeated Ibrahim Lodhi(the Sultan of Delhi) and established the Mughal Dynasty in India. Sher Shah defeated Humayun again and ruled for the next five years,till his death in an accident. *Second battle of Panipat - 1556 A.D. Hemu was defeated by Akbar. *Battle of Talikota - 1565 A.D. The Bahmani Kingdom defeated the Vijayanagar Empire and ransacked the beautiful capital city. Ruins of Vijayanagar Empire can be seen at a place called Hampii. *Battle of Haldighati- 1576 A.D. Akbar's forces attacked Maharana Pratap.The battle ended at an advantage for the Mughals. *Battle of Plassey - 1756 A.D. Siraj-ud daulah ,the Nawab of Bengal, was defeated by East India company led by Robert Clive .Mir Jafar, the commander of Siraj ud daulah's army committed treachery and did not fire the cannons. Thus the nawab was defeated and killed while Mir Jafar became the new nawab of Bengal. East India company ,led by Hector Munroe defeated the combined forces of Mir Qasim (Nawab of Bengal) ,Shuja-ud daulah (Nawab of Oudh)and Shah Alam (Mughal emperor). The East India company got the Diwani rights that is rights of collecting revenue from almost entire North India (Bengal, Bihar and Orissa). *First war of Indian independence - 1857 A.D.
