Pittsville Public Schools Annual Performance Report 2002 - 2003 Pittsville Public Schools 2002-2003 School Performance Report________________________________ Dear Parents and Citizens of the Pittsville School District: We are pleased to provide you with the 2002-2003 School Performance Report for the Pittsville School District. Wisconsin State Statute 115.38 requires schools to report information to parents on their children's school performance. This report highlights certain educational achievements of students including academic, attendance, dropout rates, student enrollment in advanced placement courses, students participating in extra-curricular activities, and financial data. We are especially proud of the accomplishment of the Pittsville Elementary School's award received on May 11, 2004 as a New Wisconsin Promise School of Recognition. Receiving this award is an honor to the entire school community. It demonstrates that the commitment to education by parents, teachers, students and community members does make a positive difference in academic achievement. The Federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act and Wisconsin's PI 34 (teacher licensure rules) continue to be a priority in schools across the state and nation; however, the goal of "educating and providing students necessary learning experiences to graduate from high school and become a valuable member of society" continues to remain the same. Thank you for taking time to review this data, and thank you to all who participate or volunteer their time on behalf of the Pittsville students. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to call me at 884-6694. Sincerely, PITTSVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS Mary Peterson Superintendent MP/dls Board Members: Russell Copeland, Mark Florence, Pete Petersen, Paul Sturgis, and Jane Wesely 2 Pittsville Public Schools 2002-2003 School Performance Report________________________________ ATTENDANCE Enrollment Possible Days Actual Days Attendance School Name PreK – 12 of Attendance of Attendance Rate % Pittsville Elementary 544 97,732.0 94,894.0 97.10 Pittsville High 246 43,277.0 40,879.0 94.46 District 790 141,009.0 135,773.0 96.29 Statewide 879,225 153,937,935.5 145,240,174.5 94.35 Attendance is face-to-face instructional contact between a student and a teacher.
