MLA Voting Records on Citizen-Initiated Referendums In 1994, 1996 and 1998, MLAs voted on legislation to give Albertans the right to propose legislation on a provincial issue of their choice, and have it voted on in a province-wide referendum. MLA voting records listed below were compiled from Alberta Hansard. For MLAs who voted for the legislation on one occasion and against it on another, the most recent vote is indicated. Regardless of how your MLA may have voted in the past, tell her or him that citizens’ initiative will promote accountability, improve democracy and empower taxpayers. .
