Tai Po Island House Footprint Education Programme (For S.4-6) Sustainable City @ Tai Po Rundown USTAINABLE CITY @ TAI PO is an outdoor “Education for Sustainable Development” Programme specially designed for senior secondary school students. Through visit to S Tai Po new and old areas, Sites of Special Scientific Interest and the industrial estate, students will understand the development of New Town and the changes in surrounding land use. Through investigating issues related to Hong Kong urban growth in the past, as well as the conflicts between environmental conservation and urban development nowadays, students can better understand the importance of building a sustainable city. PROGRAMME CONTENT: The 3 hour 30 minutes programme will be conducted with an issue inquiry approach, including an on-site field trip to different areas in Tai Po district. Stopping points include Tai Po Old Market, Tai Po Town Centre, Ting Kok Mangrove (Site of Special Scientific Interest) and Tai Po Industrial Estate. Activities will be explored to different land use in Tai Po New Town. Approx.
