Other parts of the country have lost many of their records, Towner Co, is young enough to have most of its records complete. About 50 yrs. ago, the collecting of these records was be - g u n . T h e f o 11 o w i n g w ere copied; Dakota T e r r 11 o r i a 1 Census 1885; N.D State Census 3.915 & 1925; School Census up to 194-9; 1.909 & 1928 Atlases; marriage records to 1949; early marriage records at Devils Lake; all newspapers of Towner Go. except Col. Sib ley's earl]/ papers, 'whose use was refused by the present owner; all gravestone inscriptions to 1945; Civil War pension records; Bible records; Pioneer Mothers1 records; WAP.A,; Post Office records; records of the following churches, both Bisbee Luther an, Arndt Lutheran, Bisbee Presbyterian, Egeland Pres., Bethel Pres., Cando Congregational, Cando M.B., Rocklake M.B., Hansboro 0; MAE. , Zion Brethren. 0% S - After these records were sorted under the various families, n a questionnaire was sent to some member of each family that could be located, for the information that could be supplied 0 only by the family. For this Vol. I., 470 questionnaires were ^ sent out <& 164 returned. After waiting at least 6 months for a ,rr reply, 125 reminder postcards were sent out, to which 20 answers Q were, received. With the increased postal rates, it will not be IP possible to send out reminders. "T" Every effort has been made to eliminate errors, but In spite of this, errors are bound to occur and corrections will CG be appreciated, as well as information about families that either do not appear or about whom the records are meager, n especially the address of some member of that family. O 1 wisli to thank those who have so willingly given their help to make this as complete as it is. i p-? 1. TOWNER COUNTY, N. D.
