Tally Records Discography by David Edwards, Mike Callahan & Patrice Eyries © 2018 by Mike Callahan Tally Records Discography Tally Records was originally formed as a country label in 1956 in Bakersfield, California, by Lewis Talley and Fuzzy Owen. Early Merle Haggard and Bonnie Owens country chart records were on Tally, which issued mostly singles. About a year after Haggard signed with Capitol in 1965, the Tally label became dormant. Merle Haggard and Fuzzy Owen revived the imprint in 1974 as a new label distributed by MCA.
