Assisting residents in need is an important aspect in creating “One Brooklyn,” and the purpose of this booklet is to raise awareness of much-needed services that New York provides. In addition to this guide, Women’s City Club of New York has created a city-wide directory database online for Brooklyn residents to search for social services, health, education, and employment services. On behalf of our 2.6 million Brooklynites, I would like to thank Women’s City Club of New York for working in conjunction with my office to compile this excellent free services guide. I urge our residents to take advantage of all it has to offer. Eric L. We have assembled this guide to help individuals and organizations gain access to low- and no-cost social services, programs, and resources available in Brooklyn. Whether you are searching for jobs or schools, childcare, or health care, food or transportation, consult the Table of Contents to find the appropriate category. This Guide is separated into sections, and each section includes a brief description of the subjects covered. Most entries include address, phone number and website, as well as the neighborhood and community board in which the agency is located.
