I chose my specialty in order to be able to care for children while they are sick, but also to prevent illness through education. Being a mother of two children myself has made me a better pediatrician. I believe in a partnership between myself, the parents and the child. In this partnership, I emphasize the importance of regular well-child checkups during which we all can talk about nutrition, immunizations, development, safety and other preventive issues that are important to overall good health. I try to be approachable, so that my patients and their parents feel comfortable asking questions. Through UC Davis, I can offer my patients personal and quality local everyday care, in addition to referral to top specialists for more complicated cases. Clinical Interests Dr. Ahrons enjoys caring for children when they are sick, but strives to prevent illness through patient education. She emphasizes the importance of regular well-child checkups to discuss nutrition, child development, safety and preventive health issues. Dr. Ahrons believes in creating a health partnership with both children and their parents. She enjoys establishing long-term relationships with her patients and their families and is thrilled that she now cares for the children of former patients.
