International Print judging, YPOY judging, POY contest 3 and its final round, FIP interclub and finally our portfolio for the Asia Photo Festival, Singapore starting on the 10th December 2020. As nowadays our lives are evolved around the threat perception of Covid 2019 we are learning to live with it. Many of our colleagues are Corona warriors now and FIP salutes them for fighting it out. Lessons can be learnt from them but the bottom line is one can't be too cautious . We must perceive every person coming in close contact to be a corona suspect and take enough precautions. Lately, FIP is getting calls from abroad for Salon Recognition as well as distinctions. In the light of these, we are making some key changes in our fee structure to make it more attractive for the foreigners. The burgeoning number of National Salons are a concern as regulating them is proving to be a challenge. Some photographers are running Salons with their spouses as chairpersons which make you think about the real agenda behind it. Recently we came across a so called photo club from West Bengal with address of Bangalore. FIP doesn't have policing powers and we are not detectives but common sense is commonly available to all of us and FIP has the privilege of the support from Team Salon Saathi under the able leadership of DigwasBelmane. From the year 2021, you will notice some new regulations to prevent our National salons from over burning itself. You will also see changes in our entire fee structure vis a vis FIP as well FIAP distinctions. FIAP distinction fee are likely to go up by nearly 40% in 2021. We have curtailed our Manglazodi workshop from two to one as many delegates cancelled their journey in the light of Corona threats. Till June 2021 FIP will not undertake any outdoor workshops but some great indoor workshops are in the pipeline and will be announced in the new year. I talked to them and ordered one for myself. However, I got many interesting Worthington Jets and different abstract. As usual, after this failure, I got discouraged and dropped the idea of exploring it further. Again in 2019, I was tempted to try this art. This time also I tried with the same manual set up although with some improvisations. Again I was not successful.
