Here in Cornwall the Rain started in November and I do not think it stopped for more than a few days all winter -they say the wettest for 200 years. The flower season has been very slow to start with the ambient temperatures high for the season, when spring finally came we enjoyed Beautiful Flowers over a long period. The Harvest of Bulbs last year was good, and we managed to get everything done in good time. The bulbs were a good size and quality. At the shows Adrian was awarded another Royal Horticultural Society Gold Medals for the Displays at the London Plant Fair; and at the Cardiff Show where we were delighted to receive the prestigious Best Floral Exhibit. We were awarded the Gold at the County show at Boconnoc Show - our displays also gained Gold at Falmouth, Trelissick. We are deeply honoured when Ron was awarded the ‘Carlo Naef’ trophy from The Springfield’s Horticultural Society in recognition of his work to the United Kingdom’s bulb industry. Once again we are very grateful to the Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society for the Display in Edinburgh and to Don Elder for his stalwart work in Scotland. All these shows create considerable enjoyment for the show visitors, and we are pleased to be able to supply the flowers for the occasion. The Walk and Talk visits to our Fields were well received and the weather was kind to us. We hope to continue these for various charities. This year we shall again be featuring Displays at: Devoran on the 15th March The RHS Garden at Rosemoor for the first Daffodil competition on the 15th and 16th March Trelissick on the 22nd and 23rd March Falmouth on the 29th and 30th March The RHS Plant Fair and daffodil Show London 1st and 2nd April Boconnoc on the 5th April and 6th April The RHS Show Cardiff on the 11th, 12th and 13th April We thank you all for you continued support and hope that you will enjoy our 24th Catalogue for 2014 Best wishes for an enjoyable and successful season Ron, Maureen, Adrian and Sharon 2 scamp daffs2014.qxd 4/3/14 10:07 AM Page 3 R.A.Scamp Bulb Tokens Why not send a special present with one of our New Gift Tokens , all are sent with a decorative card, and our latest Catalogue.
