It may be a recipe, magazine article, newspaper article, instructions on how to build something, etc. This does not have to be a book. After reading the piece, be ready to make a 1 minute presentation to the class about what you learned on Friday, August 9 . Please do this as much from memory as possible. You must have a visual with your presentation. It can be a poster you have created, pictures of you putting something together, an item you created, or even a food you made. Be creative and read something that interests you! _______________________ _________________________ ____________ Name of the writing Where it was found-book, magazine, etc. Type of Writing If you have any questions, please contact me this summer by email: [email protected] Name_______________________________________ Due Date: August 8, 2013 BOOK REPORT Title of Book ____________________________________________________________ Author _________________________________________________________________ Year of Newbery Award___________________________________________________ Type of Fiction__________________________________________________________ Setting: _____________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________ Main & Minor Characters 1. ________________________ 5. ________________________ 2. ________________________ 6. ________________________ 3. _______________________ 7. ________________________ 4. _______________________ 8. ________________________ Summarize the story: (Use complete sentences.) ________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________ Would you have given this book the Newbery Award?
