Cyclones Game Notes November 1, 2017 Game 5 AT Kalamazoo Page 2 Head Coach NEED-TO-KNOW Matt Macdonald Stephens Reassigned, Karabacek Recalled: The Rochester Americans, American Hockey League Birthdate: (AHL) affiliate of the Cyclones, have reassigned defenseman Devante Stephens to Cincinnati. Ste- March 16, 1983 phens was recalled last week, skating in one game with the Americans. He has appeared in a pair of Hometown: games with the Cyclones, however has yet to register a point. Additionally, forward Vaclav Kara- Niagara Falls, Ontario bacek has been recalled by the Americans. The Praha, CZE, native has skated in each of Cincinnati’s games but does not have a point. Coaching Experience: 2014-Present: Cincinnati Cyclones (Head) Cyclones Add Nylen and Fortman: The Cyclones signed defensemen Mitch Nylen and Geoff 2012-2014: Cincinnati Cyclones (Assistant) Fortman to Standard Player Contracts (SPC) for the 2017-18 season. A native of Lawrenceville, GA, Nylen is coming off of a successful collegiate career at Sacred Heart University, appearing in More about Coach Macdonald: 141 games over four years, and totaling 12 goals and 48 assists in that time. He also served as team A native of Niagara Falls, ONT, Macdonald is entering his captain during his junior and senior seasons. He was also teammates with current Cyclones forward fourth season behind the bench for the Cyclones. Last season, Justin Danforth all four years. Prior coaching victory. to turning pro, Fortman enjoyed a successful collegiate career at Canisius College, appearing in 137 games and tallying three goals and 24 assists in that time.
