Interactions The Newsletter of the UB Department of Physics Volume 6, Fall 2013 Our enrollment has also been growing steadily. UB enrolled 14 intended physics majors in 2011, 24 in 2012 and 33 this year. The most impressive number is the ratio of students enrolled to the number of offers made. It grew from 21% in 2011 to 32% in 2012, and to 38% this year. More and more students receiving our offers joined the Department. This again stands out in CAS, and is a testament to the qual- ity of our undergraduate programs and the efforts from the faculty, especially the Undergraduate Studies Committee under the leadership of Prof. Bernard Weinstein. Based on our record, the Department is one of a few used by CAS to establish model procedures for undergraduate recruitment.
