Then a walk to the location of the famous Temple of Diana. MILETUS Continue south to Miletus and the harbor area where Paul prayed with the Ephesus Elders before sailing away to Jerusalem. Dinner & Overnight at KUSADASI/EPHESUS Journeys of Paul DAY 4 - Monday, September 28 Asia Minor Coast SMYRNA - Visit this the 2nd of the 7 Churches and walk the Cardo (main street). PERGAMUM - a stop at the third of the 7 churches of Revelation with its mountainside 10,000 seat theater. ASSOS – to the port where Paul boarded the ship to sail to Miletus. TROAS – time to reflect on the ‘Macedonian Call’ and Paul’s onward journey to Neapolis. CANAKKALE – Arrive at the hotel by the famous Dardanelles straight. Dinner & Overnight at CANAKKALE Journeys of Paul DAY 5 - Tuesday, September 29 Paul’s Macedonia THE DARDANELLES A ferry sail across the narrow straights that divides Asia with Europe and links the Bosphorus river to the Aegean sea. MACEDONIA Continue by coach crossing into Macedonia, Greece, and on to the Pauline port of Neapolis and the hotel. Dinner & Overnight in NEAPOLIS DAY 6 - Wednesday, September 30 Paul’s Philippi NEAPOLIS PORT A walk by the old harbor and along a section of the ancient Roman road, the ‘Via Egnatia’, that Paul would have traveled. PHILIPPI Next by coach to explore this major site and see the Cardo, Judgment Seat, and Paul’s prison. THE RIVER OF PHILIPPI Onward to the nearby river where Paul met and baptized Lydia a ‘seller of purple’ from Thyatira. Continue by coach west following the ancient ‘Via Egnatia’ route to Thessalonika and the hotel. Dinner & Overnight in THESSALONIKA Journeys of Paul DAY 7 - Thursday, October 1 Paul’s Thessalonika Most of the day visiting the city highlights starting at the: ACROPOLIS in the upper town with its stunning views. The ARCH OF GALERIUS HOUSE OF JASON CHURCH OF ST. PAUL MAIN SYNAGOGUE WHITE TOWER a walk by the Aegean Sea shore to the city’s landmark. Late afternoon fly south to Athens and to the hotel for room assignments and the evening meal. Dinner & Overnight in ATHENS Journeys of Paul DAY 8 - Friday, October 2 Paul’s Athens The day exploring the city that Paul knew starting on: MARS HILL where he confronted the ‘Unknown God’ and proclaimed the Gospel. ACROPOLIS Ascend the massive rock which dominates the city. ROMAN FORUM and CARDO Walk through the remains of the city that Paul knew. THE PLAKKA In old Athens with its cobbled streets. CITY ORIENTATION TOUR Viewing the main highlights including the Olympic Stadium. Dinner & Overnight in ATHENS Journeys of Paul DAY 9 - Saturday, October 3 Paul’s Corinth West to spend time in the city of Aquila and Priscilla with whom Paul worked and lived. See the huge TEMPLE OF APOLLO, the BEMA SEAT, and Roman road to the port. CORINTH CANAL Stop above the man-made canal, one of the ‘seven wonders of the modern world’. CENCHREA Close the day at Corinth’s western Mediterranean port where Paul took a vow and shaved his head and where Phoebe was a ‘servant of the church’. Dinner & Overnight in ATHENS DAY 10 - Sunday, October 4 Homecoming After breakfast, transfer to Athens airport for the return flight to the U.S. Flights Departure Airports - Houston/IAH Los Angeles/LAX Chicago/ORD Atlanta/ATL New York/JFK OUTBOUND Evening departures - INBOUND Afternoon/evening returns - • Based on numbers from each airport, the specific airline and flight schedules will be outlined and clients will be notified as from • December2019. • Check-in times and meeting points will be detailed in the Travel Packs sent to all participants approx. eight weeks before departure.
