Type by original designation. Misspelled once as Odontobitis on p. 230. Appeared first as a nomen nudum in Kottelat 2001:59 [ref. 25482] and Kottelat 2001:153 [ref. 25780]. Gender is feminine according to Gill & Hoese 2011:67 [ref. 31121] but masculine according to Kottelat 2011:67 [ref. 31660].
