In page 6, between lines 5 and 6, to insert the following: “3. The Principal Act is amended, in Part 2, by the insertion of the following section after section 14: “14A.(1) This section applies where— (a) the Executive has made a determination under section 7(8)(a) that a person (in this section referred to as the ‘relevant person’) needs care services, (b) the Executive has made a determination under section 11(1) in relation to the relevant person, and (c) the relevant person is receiving care services. (2) The relevant person or his or her partner shall only have their family home considered for the purposes of the financial assessment of means under this Act and the Nursing Homes Support Scheme (Amendment) Act 2021. (3) All farm assets or businesses, including leased or transferred assets, shall not be taken into account for the purposes of the financial assessment of means under this Act or the Nursing Homes Support Scheme (Amendment) Act 2021.”.”. —Mattie McGrath, Richard O'Donoghue, Danny Healy-Rae, Carol Nolan, Michael Healy- Rae, Michael Collins. (1)The Executive shall prepare, within a year of the Act taking effect, a report containing information in relation to— (a) the legislative and policy options available to the State for the reassessment of rental income for those in receipt of the Nursing Homes Support Scheme in order to incentivise the letting of these homes, and (b) an assessment of the likely impact of these options on the operation of the Scheme and the letting of vacant properties. (2) The Executive shall send a copy of the report prepared under subsection (1) to the Minister within three months of the provisions of the subsection taking effect. (3) The Minister shall cause a copy of the report prepared under subsection (1) to be laid before each House of the Oireachtas not more than three months after it has been prepared.”.”. —Róisín Shortall, Cian O'Callaghan.
