Minutes Freeway Lace Guild Minutes of January 18, 2020 Meeting was called to order at 10:30 AM 8 members present at opening of meetin 12 members present by adjournment and 14 members by end of Show –n- Tell Welcome New Guest and Members Officers Reports Treasurer Report: Louise R., Balance in our account is $10, 64.51. Church has not cashed the first 2020 rent check. Louise is going to give passwords of for accounts to Sylvia. We need to remove Alan and get Sylvia on the account (hopefully to be done in March) Demonstration- Bill, not present Demo Hours: Sylvia reminded everyone that Lace-in counts for hours. Julia, Maria, Magharita have hours -Taught a two hour class at Preface LA - trend and fabric show. Booths from mills, attenders were designers and manufacturers. Susan - has hours from Swedish Fair. Membership – Julia reported 48 in 2019 1/3 have re-upped for 2020 (18) Programs - February- Bill will presenting crochet mats with sewing thread. March will be a Jana Novak Chick in tape Lace and she used Linen but 40 lizbeth would work too. April – Rose Wilson with sewing project bag. A request for Dorset Buttons will be on calendar coming soon! Library - We have 2 new additions including new DVD - Jean Leader, “Color in Bedfordshire Lace” The meeting was adjourned at 11;20 with a motion by Susan Trezek and a second by Rose. We reopened the meeting at 11:35 to form a nominating committee for Officers for the years 2020 and 2021. The Vote will take place at the January meeting. Sylvia Fellows appointed Maria Provencher, Susan Trezek, and Rose Wilson to be the committee. The meeting was re adjourned at 11:45. New Business A few people brought lace to be photographed, we will schedule another photo session in May. Several members were at the San Bernardino History Museum - 11-4pm. IOLI Convention Co-hosted with the Lacey Ladies, July 19-25, 2020, Mesa, AZ: the Hilton Phoenix East / Mesa Registration opens February 15, 2020 it’s only a five-hour drive! Our founder is going to be 100; it’s a big one for us to all be at; see birthday celebration information in newsletter. Hensels will be vendors, Sylvia, Maria, and Ramza are all teaching at this convention!!
